Omada Health Launches GLP-1 Flex Care to Expand Affordable Obesity Care for Employers

Overview

  • Omada Health has launched GLP-1 Flex Care, a new employer solution that expands access to GLP-1 obesity medications through cash-pay channels.
  • The offering combines clinical evaluation, prescribing, medication management, and lifestyle support while allowing employees to purchase medications independently.
  • GLP-1 Flex Care aims to help employers provide evidence-based obesity care without assuming the full cost of GLP-1 medications.

The News

Omada Health has introduced GLP-1 Flex Care, a new offering that enables employers to provide access to GLP-1 obesity medications while limiting direct medication costs. Through the program, eligible members receive clinical evaluation, lab testing, prescribing, ongoing medication management, side-effect support, nutrition and activity counseling, and personalized lifestyle coaching, while purchasing FDA-approved GLP-1 therapies independently through cash-pay channels.

Built on Omada’s existing GLP-1 Care Track, the program is designed to improve long-term treatment outcomes. Real-world data showed that 67% of Omada members remained on GLP-1 therapy after one year, compared with 47–49% reported in comparable studies, while persistent users achieved an average weight loss of 18.4%. GLP-1 Flex Care will be available to employers later in 2026.

Industry Perspective

As demand for GLP-1 therapies continues to outpace employer coverage, organizations are exploring alternative benefit models that improve access without significantly increasing healthcare spending. Cash-pay programs paired with clinical oversight and lifestyle support are emerging as a practical approach to delivering sustainable obesity care.

Strategic Impact

GLP-1 Flex Care broadens Omada’s obesity care portfolio by supporting employers across different benefit strategies, including those that do not cover GLP-1 medications. The launch strengthens Omada’s position in the growing employer-sponsored weight management market by offering a flexible, evidence-based model that balances affordability, access, and long-term health outcomes.
