Abbott and Google Health Partner to Deliver AI-Powered Metabolic Health Insights

Overview

Abbott and Google Health have entered a multi-year partnership to combine Lingo glucose data with AI-powered health insights.

The collaboration will help users connect glucose trends with nutrition, activity, sleep, and recovery to support healthier daily habits.

The companies will also conduct a large real-world metabolic health study to advance personalized guidance and research.

The News

Abbott and Google Health announced a first-of-its-kind collaboration to integrate glucose insights from Abbott’s Lingo biowearable into the Google Health app. Lingo users will be able to view glucose trends alongside other health and wellness metrics, creating a more comprehensive picture of how daily behaviors influence metabolic health.

The partnership will combine Lingo’s continuous glucose monitoring capabilities with Google Health Coach to deliver personalized, contextual recommendations around nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and recovery. The companies will also conduct one of the largest real-world metabolic health studies, combining continuous glucose, wearable, laboratory, and survey data to investigate connections between everyday behaviors and metabolic health. Lingo is intended for adults aged 18 and older who are not using insulin and want to better understand how factors such as food, movement, and stress affect glucose. The health integrations are expected to roll out in the Google Health app later this year.

Industry Perspective

Metabolic health challenges are increasing globally, with more than 115 million US adults affected by prediabetes, while many remain unaware of their condition. The integration of continuous glucose monitoring, wearable data, and AI is creating new opportunities to help consumers identify behavioral patterns and take earlier action to support metabolic health.

Strategic Impact

The partnership expands the role of continuous glucose monitoring from standalone glucose tracking toward AI-powered, personalized health management. By combining Abbott’s biowearable technology with Google’s AI and consumer health ecosystem, the collaboration could enable more actionable lifestyle insights while generating large-scale real-world evidence to advance future metabolic health solutions.
