Exer AI’s Exer Scan has been introduced across Mayo Clinic Orthopedics teams to support musculoskeletal assessment and clinical documentation. The app’s hand/wrist module uses camera-based technology to assess mobility, range of motion, and strength proxies, providing clinicians with structured, quantitative data during both in-person and virtual visits.

A key part of the deployment is Exer Scan’s integration with Epic electronic health record (EHR) workflows through SMART on FHIR. Assessment results can flow directly into Epic SmartNote and connect with billing systems, helping clinicians incorporate objective measurements into the longitudinal patient record while reducing administrative work. 

The solution was evaluated and deployed through Mayo Clinic Platform_Solutions Studio, which assesses digital health technologies for clinical relevance, intended use, and performance before supporting integration into real-world care environments.
