The News
Omada Health has joined Eli Lilly’s Employer Connect program as an independent program administrator, enabling employers to offer Omada’s GLP-1 Care Track alongside access to Zepbound. Through the program, eligible employees can receive clinical evaluation, prescribing, ongoing medication management, and evidence-based lifestyle support in a coordinated care model. The collaboration complements Omada’s existing pharmacy benefit manager and cash-pay channels, giving employers greater flexibility in designing obesity care benefits with transparent medication pricing and predictable contribution levels.
The announcement comes as demand for GLP-1 therapies continues to rise. Omada also shared findings from a survey of more than 3,000 non-Omada GLP-1 users, highlighting gaps in obesity care. The survey found that 61% of patients wanted more time with their healthcare provider to discuss weight management, while 68% sought additional nutrition guidance and 66% wanted more exercise support. Additionally, only 18% reported full insurance coverage for GLP-1 medications, with 44% paying more than $250 per month out of pocket.
Industry Perspective
As demand for GLP-1 therapies continues to grow, employers are looking for sustainable ways to balance rising healthcare costs with improved access to obesity treatment. Integrating medication access with behavioral coaching and long-term care is emerging as a preferred approach to improve adherence, clinical outcomes, and overall value while addressing gaps left by traditional primary care.
Strategic Impact
By joining Lilly’s Employer Connect program, Omada expands the reach of its GLP-1 Care Track while strengthening its position in employer-sponsored obesity care. The collaboration provides employers with flexible coverage options, predictable medication costs, and coordinated care, supporting broader adoption of evidence-based weight management programs and improving long-term cardiometabolic health outcomes.
