Remepy Publishes New Mechanistic Evidence Supporting Hybridopa for Parkinson’s Disease 

Overview 

Remepy has published new mechanistic findings in npj Parkinson’s Disease demonstrating how Hybridopa, its Hybrid Drug for Parkinson’s disease, may improve motor function by promoting neuroplasticity through personalized digital interventions.  

The study complements previously published Phase IIa clinical data by providing structural and functional brain imaging evidence linking Hybridopa to improved motor-related brain activity.  

The findings further strengthen the scientific rationale for Hybridopa as Remepy prepares to launch a global Phase III clinical trial later this year.  

The News 

Remepy has announced the publication of new mechanistic data in npj Parkinson’s Disease (Nature Portfolio) highlighting how Hybridopa™, a Hybrid Drug combining levodopa with personalized digital therapeutic interventions, may enhance treatment outcomes for Parkinson’s disease. Conducted in collaboration with Reichman University, the study builds on previously reported Phase IIa findings published in Brain Communications, which demonstrated significant improvements in motor and non-motor symptoms compared with levodopa plus a placebo app. Using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) alongside functional MRI, researchers found converging structural and functional changes in motor-related brain circuits associated with clinical improvements. Participants receiving Hybridopa showed stronger communication between movement-related brain regions, evidence of neuroplastic changes, and better motor function, with higher engagement in the digital therapy linked to greater clinical benefits. The findings provide the first multimodal imaging evidence supporting the mechanism of a digital therapeutic intervention in Parkinson’s disease and reinforce the scientific foundation for Hybridopa’s planned global Phase III trial.

As digital therapeutics evolve, combining evidence-based software interventions with conventional drug therapies is emerging as a promising strategy for neurological disorders. Mechanistic imaging studies are becoming increasingly important in validating how these therapies influence brain function and supporting their adoption as clinically meaningful complements to pharmacological treatment.
