WPS has acquired Mavida Health, expanding WPS’s presence in digital healthcare
Mavida will continue operating independently, with WPS planning to expand its licensure and evaluate new offerings and markets.
The News
WPS has acquired Mavida Health, a digital therapy and psychiatry platform founded in 2023 by reproductive psychiatrist Dr. Sarah Oreck and health technology leader Emma Sugerman. Mavida provides individual, group, and couples therapy, as well as medication management, for women navigating reproductive and hormonal health transitions.
Its services address conditions and life stages including PMOS, PMDD, fertility challenges, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, postpartum mental health, perimenopause, and menopause. Mavida currently operates in California, New York, New Jersey, and Texas, with plans to expand into additional states.
Following the acquisition, Mavida will continue operating as an independent company with its existing leadership and structure. Rochelle Myers, WPS’s Chief Growth Officer, will serve as President of Mavida Health. WPS plans to work toward expanding Mavida’s licensure into Wisconsin and assess new offerings for members.
The acquisition forms part of WPS’s broader strategy to diversify revenue beyond its core health insurance operations and marks the first in a series of targeted investments and acquisitions under consideration.
